Sugar Rushing!

Hello!

I have been collecting and receiving sweets from around the globe to consume, enjoy and to share with you! I now have a box in my living room where treats are slowly being added to it and already its making quite a sight! Some are in strange packaging in wonderful, foreign writing that even I can't understand what flavours I have waiting for consumption!

I do like to try and stay away from the mainstream sweets that we all know and love/hate. I want to try and find things a little more...out there!

And why not? Life is too shot to keep tasting the same sweeties all the time! And its an exciting journey to go and find unusual foods. I just got back from London where I stocked up on sweets from both food markets to high end shops. It seems no matter who we are and where we fall on the social spectrum, we all possess a sweet tooth of a kind!

After all, in the grey gloom of life, we all need reminding from time to time that life can indeed, be sweet and how better to achieve that than sweets and sugary things themselves?

Wham Rocket!

Wham bars are perhaps the main sweet of my later childhood years, where my GCSE exams alone were perhaps fuelled by these distinctively packaged bars and even more distinctive tang the humble wham bar had!

So to see the Wham Rocket bought to me a little tingle of excitement and curiosity to see how they developed a new wham product on the block!

Now I love sherbet dips, when I was a good girl (and often for my granddad I was!) My granddad would walk me to the sweet shop and bought me a sherbet dip which was enjoyed immensely for hours. I want a sherbet dip-type sweet to capture that sensation all over again.

You get a strawberry-esque foam dipper that you dip into the sour raspberry sherbet that has crunchy space dust mixed through. The flavours still captures all the lovable things we know and love Wham for. The intense fruity tang that explodes in the mouth with the sour hint that tinges on the lips and gently scold the tongue delightfully that it has you reaching for more.

I personally would like a bit more of a sour vibe or popping of the space dust for an added dimension to the sweet but for an overall experience - it's not bad! I would however still reach for a Wham bar over this.

I guess once you tasted the real thing, nothing else comes close to it! Plus this doesn't capture the chewiness that sticks to your teeth in a wonderful way!
What I do like about the design feature is, the tube is re-sealable so you can save it for later and allows the longevity of the product itself, it encourages you to slow down and actually taste what it's offering!
And with its bright packaging, you can't really miss it on the shelf!

Its a great sweet and gives a great experience but lives in the shadow of the epic Wham Bar!

Strawberry milkshake poppets

Where to start this blog hey?
Well I shall start with the first piece of candy that I reviewed specifically with starting this blog in mind!
Strawberry Milkshake Poppets appealed to me purely because I grew up consuming and adoring the mint poppets and knew I had to give these a go.
They come in that little box we all know so well where you push the tab in and pour the suckers out.
You really could smell the sweeteness as soon as you opened the box!
Were these going to be mellow creamy strawberry?
Tangy berry that gets the juices going?
Or so intensely sweet that they make the back teeth in your mouth shudder and after like five poppets, you have to put them down and take a break from being overwhelmed by the sugary kick these have?!
These were so sweet that even me with a massive sweet tooth found them towards the end very repulsive!
*cringes*
I'm not joking about how sweet they are, as I recall what they tasted like, my teeth are rattling in the memory and trauma of it all!
Won't be in a hurry at all to be eating these! Dissappointing compared to the mint poppets so I will be resisting the little pink boxes in future!
